Tim Daniels is the Director of Energy Policy for Constellation Energy Resources. His responsibilities include representing the legislative and regulatory interests of Constellation’s deregulated business units in New York State as well as managing all policy coordination for Constellation NewEnergy’s growing North American demand response business.
Prior to joining Constellation, Mr. Daniels served as the Assistant Vice President for Energy Policy at the New York City Economic Development Office’s Energy Department. In that role, he managed the implementation of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s 2004 Energy Policy as well as representing the City on a range of issues including energy efficiency, alternative energy, smart grid, and demand response. Mr. Daniels also served as the Chair of the Con Edison Steam Business Development Task Force, which was formed in 2004 at the direction of the New York Public Service Commission.
Over his ten years of experience in the energy field, Mr. Daniels has held a number of other business development and policy positions with alternative energy development companies, the U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association, several national environmental non-profits. Additionally, he was actively engaged in early federal electric deregulation debates in the 105th and 106th Congresses of the U.S. House while serving as the Legislative Director of the 18-state Northeast-Midwest Coalition as well as the Congressional Task Force on Manufacturing.
Mr. Daniels has served on a number of boards and advisory groups including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the Association of Energy Engineers, the New York City Building Congress, the Business Council of New York State, and the U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association. He received a BA from Emory University and a MS from Johns Hopkins University.
