Ron Ambrosio has over 25 years experience in advanced research, technology, and software product development. His primary expertise is in embedded systems, sensor and control automation networks, operating systems, communications and distributed application frameworks. Since 2000 he has focused on the application of advanced Information Technology in the creation of smart grids. Mr. Ambrosio is IBM´s Global Research Leader for Energy & Utilities, and as part of the company´s senior leadship team for the industry he is responsible for the Research Division´s strategy and activities in IBM´s eight international laboratories. Mr. Ambrosio holds a B.S. from Hofstra University in Computer Science with a Mathematics emphasis, and he has done additional graduate study at Columbia University and New York Institute of Technology.
